A seasoned pro, Mike Basich continues to be an outright defiance of gravity. Finished with competing, Basich channels his artistic drive into creating and constructing original artwork and inventions for himself and for his company, 241 Clothing. He also devotes a great deal of his time to working with major snowboarding magazines, which have followed him throughout his entire riding career. Furthermore, Basich also keeps busy by filming progressive new snowboarding flicks like Keep Your Eyes Open (2002). Having the desire to make innovative products makes Arbor the perfect environment for him. As an Arbor ambassador, Basich helps turn out some of the most innovative snowboards the industry has even seen. Basich rides the Draft 158 and Crossbow 162.

Why You Ride for Arbor:
I ride for Arbor because they offer something no one else has in the 16 years that I have been riding for companies. Arbor has stayed on their path all these years, which is to build the best boards from natural materials so you can enjoy the great experience that snowboarding has to offer. Knowing the board I ride came from the forest and from people that love this sport as much as I do, is everything I have ever wanted in a company. It makes me feel less alone out in the mountains.

Future Aspirations:
Probably to make the most powerful turns out of anyone out there and also to cruise around in my van with my sled and see what mountains offer the best lines. I am up to heading anywhere. I will end up in Alaska; I know that for sure. And to try to capture the best photo that shows what my winter ended up being.

As far as we can tell this 58' long, 17' high rainbow is the biggest rail ever ridden. It was designed and built by Mike Basich who set it up in an AK gravel pit and towed in at around 40mph. In the process he remotely snapped this self portrait.
